Partners - Mark Hawkins

Educated in Zimbabwe and England, Mark Hawkins qualified in 1986, joined Tallents in 1989 and was made a partner in 1991. He now works from the Mansfield office

Since qualifying Mark has developed three main areas of expertise, all largely revolving around the Magistrates and County Courts; family and children, criminal and licensing law.

Mark has been a member of the Law Society’s Children panel since 1996. He regularly contests cases in the Magistrates and County Court and has appeared in the High Court. Mark also has extensive experience in divorce matters and related financial and contact disputes.

Mark has had 16 years experience in dealing with the criminal courts, from minor road traffic accidents to serious cases requiring disposal at the Crown Courts. He has been a Court Duty Solicitor since 1990 and the Mansfield office is an accredited provider of criminal defence services.

Mark also has extensive experience in all areas of liquor licensing, dealing with simple transfers of existing licenses, obtaining licenses for currently unlicensed premises, restaurants, nightclubs and public entertainment licenses. He is also familiar with new changes in the law to be introduced in November 2005.
