The hardworking volunteers of #TeamTallents returned to the Flower Pod in Newark recently as part of this year’s volunteering commitments.
The Flower Pod Newark is a beautiful community garden sited on approximately two acres of land in Hawtonville near Newark. The garden includes two ponds, poly tunnels, a small orchard, vegetable and flower beds, fruit bushes and other interesting features. The site offers an accessible space where people with learning disabilities can take part in gardening-related learning and social activities, make new friends, enjoy outdoor activity and learn new skills as well as have opportunity for supported volunteering and mentoring.
#TeamTallents put on their gardening gloves and clothes to help Reach Learning Disability tidy up the Flower Pod for users to continue to enjoy in the amazing summer weather the UK has been experiencing. Here are some photos of what they got up to on the day!
