Big Newark Sleep Out 2024
#TeamTallents successfully made it through the Big Newark Sleep Out on Friday 8 March 2024.
Joining many others from our local businesses, our intrepid team constructed their own sleeping shelters for the night (which didn’t blow away!) and braved the cold March night to raise the profile of the young homeless in our town and highlight the critical issue of mental health care within our community.
Sue Shepperson said: “The sense of camaraderie was immense. It really made us think about the people that have to do that every night and not in the safe, privileged environment that we had.
“The hardship, sense of fear, loneliness, and helplessness they go through must be overwhelming for anyone that has to sleep rough. They all have their own reasons and circumstances, and it was amazing to be able to do a very small thing to try and help.
“It certainly made us grateful for what we have, our family, friends, homes, jobs and money to eat.
“We would like to thank the staff at the YMCA for making us feel welcome and providing an insight into their world and the people that they help. They do an amazing job!!”

ABOUT THE BIG NEWARK SLEEP OUT 2024
Several members of the Tallents Solicitors team, lead by Alistair Millar, our Senior Partner and Mat Derbyshire slept out in the cold on Friday 8th March 2024, joining our local community in an amazing night of fundraising.
Together, everyone hoped to raise the profile of the young homeless in our town and highlight the critical issue of mental health care within our community.
Alistair, Mat and our other intrepid team members experience a glimpse into the life of a rough sleeper for one night only, all while raising money for those who have no option but to endure this every night.

One Night, One Cause: Joining in the fight against homelessness.
2024 sees Tallents Solicitors celebrating and incredible 250 years in business as one of the oldest law firms in the UK.
To celebrate this momentous occasion, our staff will be taking part in a range of activities from bake sales, fundraising and volunteering, all with the aim of helping our local communities, residents and charities.
